First Impressions is a brand operated by Text In Church, L.C. (“TIC,” “we,” “us,” and “our”). These policies apply to your use of the First Impressions website and services.

This Policy applies to your use as a user of the Platform, whether as a visitor, a registered member, or a participant in any First Impressions program (“you”). This Policy applies to information we collect on the Platform, information you provide during participation in trainings, conferences, and community spaces, and information gathered in emails and other electronic messages between you and us, and information gathered when you interact with our advertising on third-party websites if such advertisements include links to this Policy. This Policy does not apply to information collected by any other website operated by any third party, or information collected by any third party through any application or content (including advertising) that may link to or be accessible from the Platform.
Please read this Policy carefully to understand our practices regarding your information and how we will treat it. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, then please do not provide personal information to TIC. By using our Platform, you agree to the terms of this Policy. This Policy may change from time to time (see below, “Changes to this Policy”). Your continued use of our Platform after we make changes is deemed to be acceptance of those changes.

This Policy should be read in conjunction with our Terms of Use, into which this Policy is expressly incorporated by reference.
What We Collect and How We Collect It
Personal information is information that identifies, relates to, describes, references, is reasonably capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with a particular user, household or device (“Personal Information”). We may collect the following categories of Personal Information from users of our Platform: identifiers (such as name, postal address, email address, phone number, account name, and IP address); internet or other similar network activity (such as how you interact with our Website, App, training, and community content); audio and visual information (such as recordings of training sessions, conferences, and other Platform events in which you participate); geolocation data (general location, not precise); and professional or employment-related information (such as your role at your church or organization).
Sensitive Personal Information. Certain information we collect, including information about religious or philosophical beliefs (which may be inferred from your role at a church or your participation in First Impressions training and community spaces), constitutes “sensitive personal information” under the California Consumer Privacy Act and similar state laws. We use sensitive personal information only as necessary top rovide the Platform and as authorized by applicable law. We do not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics about you, and we do not sell or share sensitive personal information for purposes of cross-context behavioral advertising. California residents have the right to limit our use of sensitive personal information; see “Your Rights Under State Law” below.
We obtain the categories of Personal Information listed above from the following categories of sources:
Directly from you. For example, when you:
Indirectly from you. For example, through information we collect from you in the course of providing our services to you.
Directly and indirectly from activity on our Platform. For example, from Website usage details and Platform activity that are collected automatically. For more information on automatic information collection, please review the “Automated Information Collection” section below.
Recordings of Events. We may record (in audio, video, screen-capture, or transcript form) First Impression strainings, conferences, community sessions, and other Platform events in which you participate. By participating, you consent to such recording and to TIC’s use of those recordings as described in this Policy and in the Membership Agreement (including for replay, archival, training content, member education, and reasonable marketing purposes). Where applicable law requires further consent before recording, we will obtain that consent before recording begins.
Free-Text Boxes. The information that you provide in each case will vary. When providing your Personal Information, please provide only relevant information and do not provide unnecessary sensitive information, such as Social Security numbers, credit card information or other sensitive personal data, unless required for our services.
Username and Password. We may ask you to create a username and password that should only be known to you. When you provide this information to us, you are no longer anonymous. We may also receive information about you from other sources and add it to the information you have provided to us.
Aggregated and De-Identified Data. We may collect, use and share aggregated and de-identified data such asstatistical or demographic data for any purpose. Aggregated and de-identified data is not Personal Information as long as it cannot directly or indirectly reveal your identity.
Live Chat. When using live chat features, please only provide necessary information and do not provide sensitive information. For record keeping, training, and quality assurance purposes, we or our third-party vendor may record and maintain a transcript of any communications in the live chat.
Automated Information Collection
In addition to the information that you provide to us, we may also collect information about you during your visit to our Website. We collect this information using automated tools that are detailed below. These tools may collect information about your behavior and your computer system, such as your internet address (IP Address), the pages you have viewed, and the actions you have taken while using the Website.
Cookies. A “cookie” is a small data file transmitted from a website to your device. We may use session cookies (which do not stay on your device after you close your browser) and persistent cookies (which remain until you delete them or they expire). We may use strictly necessary cookies, performance cookies, functionality cookies, and targeting/advertising cookies.
Google Analytics. The Websites ends aggregated non-Personal Information to Google Analytics for the purpose of providing us with the ability to conduct technical and statistical analysis on the Website’s performance. Meta Pixel. We use the MetaPixel (also known as the Facebook Pixel) to help us understand visitors to our Website and to help target advertising. Meta’s processing of the data is governed by Meta’s Data Usage Policy, available athttps://www.facebook.com/policy.php.
Web Beacons. We may use web beacons to track interactions with our emails and Website. This information is generally collected in aggregate form.
Embedded Web Links. Links provided in our emails and, in some cases, on third-party websites may include tracking technology embedded in the link to help us understand how our communications are used.
How We Use Your Information
We use the Personal Information we collect to provide, maintain, and improve the Platform and the products and services you request, in addition to various other purposes, including, but not limited to:
Retention. We retain Personal Information for as long as reasonably necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it was collected, including for the purposes of providing the Platform, complying with our legal, accounting, tax, and reporting obligations, and resolving disputes. The criteria we use to determine the retention period for any category of Personal Information include:
(i) the duration of our on going relationship with you;
(ii) whether there is a legal, contractual, or regulatory obligation that requires retention;
(iii) whether retention is advisable in light of TIC’s legal position; and
(iv) operational needs. When the applicable retention period elapses, we securely delete or de-identify the relevant Personal Information. Recordings of trainings, conferences, and other Platform events may be retained indefinitely for archival and member-education purposes unless we receive a verifiable request for removal that we determine is legally required.
How We Disclose Your Information
We do not sell or lease your Personal Information to any third party. We may disclose your Personal Information to a third party for a business purpose, including the following categories of third parties:
Our Affiliates or Subsidiaries. We may disclose the information collected through the Platform with our affiliates (including Text In Church) in order to provide our products, services and effective customer support.
Third-party Service Providers. We may disclose Personal Information collected through the Platform with third-party Service Providers who act for or on behalf of TIC.
Sub-processors. We engage third-party Service Providers to help us deliver the Platform. Our current material Service Providers include Twilio, Inc. (SMS and voice messaging carrier services), Amazon Web Services, Inc. (cloud hosting and infrastructure), SendGrid (a Twilio service, for transactional and marketing email delivery), HubSpot, Inc. (customer relationship management and marketing automation), Intercom, Inc. (in-product messaging and customer support), Anthropic, PBC (artificial intelligence services via the Claude AI assistant), Google LLC (website analytics via Google Analytics), Meta Platforms, Inc.(advertising measurement via the Meta Pixel), and one or more third-party online community and learning platforms (which host certain training,community, and event functionality on our behalf). We require each Service Provider to be bound by contractual obligations to protect Personal Information and to process it consistent with this Policy. If we engage a new material Service Provider or change a current one, we will update this section.
Other Members of the Platform. When you participate in First Impressions community spaces, trainings, conferences, or events, your contributions (including questions, comments, screen presence in live sessions, and discussion posts) may be visible to other members. You should treat anything you share in those spaces as visible to other members. We do not control how other members handle what they hear or see, although our Membership Agreement requires members to treat such content as confidential and not disclose it outside the Platform. See the Membership Agreement for details on member-to-member confidentiality.
In Aggregate or De-Identified Form. We may aggregate or otherwise anonymize the data we collect for purposes of analytics, research, marketing and other business interests of TIC.
Except as described in this Policy, we will not disclose your information with third parties without your notice and consent, unless under the following circumstances:
Legal Reasons.
Sale of Business or Merger. There are circumstances where TIC may decide to buy, sell, or reorganize its business. Under these circumstances, it may be necessary to disclose or receive Personal Information with prospective or actual partners or affiliates. In such circumstances, TIC will ensure your information is used in accordance with this Policy.
Your Choices and Selecting Your Privacy Preferences
We may send you email newsletters and marketing emails. You may opt out of such emails at any time by selecting the “unsubscribe” link at the bottom of each email. Transactional or service-oriented messages, such as event reminders or membership confirmations, are excluded from such preferences.
Text Messaging AnD voice Communications
Mobile information, including SMS opt-in data and mobile phone numbers, will not be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All the above categories exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.
First Impressions sends SMS and voice messages to subscribers, including training reminders, event information, and other communications related to your participation in First Impressions programs. By providing your mobile number, you consent to receive such communications. You may opt out at any time by replying STOP, UNSUBSCRIBE, CANCEL, END, QUIT, REVOKE, or OPT-OUT to any message. You may receive one final confirmation message acknowledging your opt-out. You may request information about a messaging program by replying HELP to any message. Message frequency varies based on the program and your relationship with us. Message and data rates may apply. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
First Impressions uses artificial intelligence (“AI”) to enhance and support certain features of the Platform. AI-powered features may include automated data extraction, processing assistance, communication tools, and other operational improvements. We may add, modify, or remove AI-powered features over time.
When you use an AI-powered feature, the relevant data is transmitted to a third-party AI provider for processing. The provider returns the AI-generated output to us, and we deliver it to the Platform interface. Our current material AI provider is Anthropic, PBC (provider of the Claude AI assistant). We may engage additional or alternative AI providers in the future and will update this section to identify any material change in providers.
We do not use Personal Information or the content of communications through the Platform to train AI or machine learning models in a manner that identifies you or any individual. We may use aggregated or de-identified data, which cannot reasonably be linked to you, to improve the Services and develop new features, including AI-assisted features. We do not sell or license your information in identifiable form for AI training purposes by third parties. Where we engage third-party AI providers to process your data for Platform features, those providers are bound by terms that prohibit them from using the data we transmit to train, improve, or develop their AI models. Data transmitted to and from our AI providers is encrypted in transit using industry-standard TLS, and we retain AI processing data only as long as necessary to deliver the feature you requested.
AI-generated output is provided as a convenience and may contain errors. You are responsible for reviewing AI-generated output before relying on it or transmitting it to others. We do not use AI to make any decision about you that produces legal or similarly significant effects.
Accuracy and Access to Your Personal Information
We strive to maintain and process your information accurately. Where we can provide you access to your Personal Information in our possession, we will always ask you for a username and password to help protect your privacy and security. To view and change the Personal Information you have provided to us, you can directly edit your details in your account, or contact us directly for assistance.
Information of Minors
We do not intentionally seek togather Personal Information from individuals under the age of sixteen (16). Wedo not target the Platform to minors. If we are aware of any Personal Information that we have collected about a minor without parental or guardian consent, we will take steps to securely remove it from our systems.
Submissions
We welcome inquiries or feedback. This section applies only to feedback, suggestions, testimonials, public reviews, and other unsolicited submissions you make to TIC directly through designated public channels (such as our marketing website, public review platforms, or feedback forms). Any inquiries, feedback, suggestions, ideas, materials, comments or other information you provide to us through such designated channels (collectively, “Submissions”) will be treated as non-proprietary and non-confidential. We will not use your name, image, or identifying details in advertising or promotional materials without your prior consent. This section does not apply to communications you make in First Impressions community spaces, trainings, conferences, or events, which are governed by the Membership Agreement.
Third Party Websites and Services
This Policy does not apply toweb sites or other domains that are maintained or operated by third parties. Our Platform may link to or allow you to interact with certain third-party websites and services. These links are not endorsements. Because this Policy is not enforced on these third-party websites or services, we encourage you to read any posted privacy policy of a third party before using the service or website and providing any information.
Your Rights Under State Law

Consumer Rights
Some state laws in the United States provide consumers with additional rights with respect to their personal information. Such state laws may include, but are not limited to, the California Consumer Privacy Act of 2018 (the “CCPA”) as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, the Colorado Privacy Act (“CPA”), the Virginia Consumer Data Protection Act (“VCDPA”), the Connecticut Data Privacy Act, the Texas Data Privacy and Security Act, the Utah Consumer Privacy Act, the Oregon Consumer Privacy Act, the Montana Consumer Data Privacy Act, the Tennessee Information Protection Act, the Delaware Personal Data Privacy Act, the New Jersey Data Protection Act, the Maryland Online Data Privacy Act, the Minnesota Consumer Data Privacy Act, the Indiana Consumer Data Protection Act, the Iowa Consumer Data Protection Act, the New Hampshire data privacy law, and the Rhode Island Data Transparency and Privacy Protection Act. A. Access. You have the right to request that we disclose certain information to you about our collection, use and disclosure of your Personal Information over the past twelve (12) months.
B. Correction. You can correct what Personal Information our Platform database currently contains by accessing your account directly, or by contacting us.
C. Prohibit Data Sharing. When applicable, you may prohibit the sharing of your Personal Information.
D. Portability. Upon request and when possible, we can provide you with copies of your Personal Information.
E. Deletion. You have the right to request that we delete any of your Personal Information, subject to certain exceptions, including our right to retain recordings of Platform events for archival and member-education purposes where legally permitted.
F. Opt-out of Processing. You have the right to request that we do not sell your Personal Information, use it for Targeted Advertising, or use it for profiling.
G. Non-Discrimination. If you exercise your rights under applicable state law, we shall not discriminate against you.

Responding to Your Request. Upon receiving your request, we will confirm receipt and may take steps to verify your identity. We will respond to your request within 45 days. If we require more time, we will inform you of the reason and extension period in writing.
Right to Appeal. If we decline to take action on a request you submit under this section, you have the right to appeal our decision. To submit an appeal, contact us at compliance.officer@firstimpressions.church within a reasonable time after receiving our decision. We will review the appeal and respond in writing within sixty (60) days of receipt. If we deny your appeal, we will inform you of any options you have to contact the attorney general or other appropriate regulator in your state.
For Website Users or Visitors Outside of the United States
Our Website is designed for use by individuals in the United States and Canada only. To provide you with our services, we may store, process, and transmit information in the United States and other locations around the world. Regardless of the country in which such information is stored, we will process your Personal Information in accordance with this Policy.
Safeguarding the Information We Collect
We use reasonable technical,administrative, and physical safeguards to protect your Personal Information against accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure. However, we can never promise 100% security.
Breach Notification. In the event of a confirmed breach of unsecured Personal Information that affects your information, we will notify you and any applicable regulators in accordance with the requirements of applicable law, and in any event without unreasonable delay after we determine that a breach has occurred.
Changes to this Policy
If we make any changes to this Policy, a revised Policy will be posted on this webpage and the “Last Revised” date at the top of this Policy will be updated to reflect the change.
